Abstract

The notebook documents work completed during the Smithsonian-Bredin Expedition in the Caribbean, 1960. Inside the front cover is a list of details about the history and construction of the Schooner "Blue Goose." The first page lists the members of the scientific party (Waldo Schmitt, Harald Rehder, J. F. Gates Clarke with U.S. National Museum), Franklin Dabier with University of Delaware, and J. Bruce Bredin. Also lists crew by name and contact information. Entries include station information take aboard the Blue Goose during March to May 1960. Information includes station number, collecting method, location information, description of environment, time of day. Some entries include drawings with notations. There appear to be multiple authors. Other entries list types of specimens (common name) collected per station number, as well as information regarding soil samples. There is a copy of a station work sheet from the National Sorting Center for accession number 229190.
