Abstract

The photographs 12 black-and-white, 7 color) were taken as part of the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, 1964-1966. They depict sea mammals such as whales and Hawaiian monk seals. Color photographs in Folder 5 depict a dead sea mammal, possibly Goose-beaked whale. Some photographs of birds are also included in this folder; the reason for this is unclear. Brief captions are present on the reverse of many of the photographs. Photographs were taken on French Frigate Shoals, Lisianski Island, and Pearl and Hermes Reef. The photographs are attributed to A. B. Amerson, R. Clapp, and R. Maze.
