Abstract

This notebook documents the work of James Luhr in relation to his volcanology research in San Luis Potosi and Durango during May 16, 1987 - December 10, 1990. Notebook entries provide information on: dates, directions to the collection site (occasionally, map information e.g. Map F14 A34), type of activity, deposit information. Specimen information includes: specimen identifier(e.g. SLP-155), type of rock, color, density, inclusions (e.g. lherzolite, pyroxenite & granolite xenoliths in the lava sample), density, photo information, some instances of stratigraphic illustrations about the specimen. Another data set present in the notebook includes a table with indicators (e.g. LC 118° = 9 cm thick). Some notes on logistics of the trip are included and dated by September 20,1992. Lherzolite is mentioned throughout the notebook. Some entries are written in the form of narrative.
