Abstract

The notebook documents the volcanology work of James Luhr at the Colima Volcanic Complex in Mexico, during visits in January and October 2004, February and June 2005, and June 2006. Entries are usually dated, and describe travel details, names of colleagues (frequently just first name), observations of terrain, routes traveled during field work, work completed by colleagues, and detailed information about specimens. These include specimen number (e.g. VF04-1A), location information (latitude and longitude), characteristics, and photographs taken (sometimes with photo number and description). Entries also includes information about lost notebook for the 2001-2002 season, attempts to reconstruct notes, to-do lists, notes on calculating bulk densities, and drawings with notations. There are also separate lists for samples for "chem", list of carbon samples, and ash samples.
