PrintThese notes document the work of James F. Luhr related to his volcanology research in Mexico during January 30 - March 3, 1981. There is an insert of a drawing of a caldera. Entries provide information on: date, types of activity, directions to field site, specimen identifiers (e.g. M-81 - 1 A), inclusions, count, type and measurements of lithics (e.g. 20 cm scoria to surface). Locations include: Guadalajara, San Pedro Valencia, and Volcan Colima. There are drawings of landscape, stratigraphic charts with the indications where the samples were collected. There is a data set providing information on the airfall sequence and pyroclastic sections with numerical measurements (e.g. Pyr #8 (638.49) [9990]). Photos of the samples are referenced as well (e.g. photo 5 roll 8 with 387 indicated looking down). There are entries with the itineraries of the field trip in miles and kilometers.
