Abstract

These field notes document the work of James F. Luhr on his volcanology research in Mexico (Cantaro, Colima, and Caldera). The fly leaf contains table of contents numbered by Roman numerals. The notes are written in a form of academic narrative. Data provided includes the locations, their geological and petrological characteristics, analysis of the observed and researched phenomena, and metric measurements. There is a loose insert of memorabilia. There are also notes dated by December 16-18, 1983 that provide data on field work in the vicinity of Rancho San Juan. The data on these notes include: date, geological characteristics of the specimens collected, color, specimen identifier (e.g. CHL-100), drawings of cross sections of geological structures with measurements in cm. and yards.
