Abstract

The notebook documents the fieldwork of Everett Dale Jackson on Niihau during October 1975. Entries provide information about date, names of collectors, detailed route description, sample identifier (e.g. 15 NII-1). Samples are described by the following: location identifier, specific location at the field site, sometimes description of terrain and geological structure, geological characteristics, inclusions, count, measurements, coarseness. Another set of data includes a table numbered as 75505 I-1 with what appears to be a sample number, measurements in inches (e.g. .7 x .9), geological characteristics of the sample (e.g. angular, blocky, planar lamination), information about inclusions (e.g.pc 30 .5 intensified). All pages are numbered.
