Abstract

The notebook documents the fieldwork of Everett D. Jackson at the Stillwater complex in Montana, August 4 - October 13, 1953. The volume begins with a table of contents that lists page number, description, date and specs (appear to be specimen numbers e.g. 53MV-21). Description contains information about work completed and location. Entries are dated, headed with initials of team members, and location information. Entries are narrative in structure and describe traverses, with information about routes, observations of terrain, composition of ground including types of minerals, specimen numbers. There are numerous references to chromite. Locations include but are not limited to Pine Creek Mountain, Little Baldy Mountain, and Mouat Mine.
