Abstract

The notebook documents the fieldwork of Everett D. Jackson at the Stillwater complex in Montana, July 24 - October 4, 1953. The volume begins with a table of contents, listing range of pages, and description of activity and location information. Entries are dated, headed with location information (sometimes route), initials of team members, followed with narrative structured entries. These contain detailed descriptions of routes, observations of terrain, composition of ground including minerals present, measurements, geological sections, and specimen information including identifier (e.g. 52MV-12). Also contains drawings of geological characteristics. Locations include but not limited to Mouat mine, Bluebird peak, and Mt. View cliff.
