Abstract

The notebook documents the fieldwork of Everett D. Jackson at the Stillwater complex in Montana, July 30 - August 23, 1952. The volume begins with a table of contents listing page number, description, date, and specs. Entries are dated, headed with the initials of researchers (EDJ and PRV), followed by narrative description of observations. Observations describe, travel routes, characteristics of terrain (slopes and outcrops), types of minerals present, measurements, as well as descriptions of specimens collected. These include specimen number (e.g. 52WF-3b), location, and characteristics. There are drawings of geological characteristics with notations. Presence of chromite is often noted.
