Abstract

This notebook documents the field trip of Everett Dale Jackson in Hawaii during February 2- 22, 1967. There is a sample list taped to the flyleaf that appears to provide information on location and specimen count (e.g. HOL-1 2). First entry is recorded on February 2nd, 1967 at East rift of Mauna Kea. Data recorded includes: date, initials of the collector, location, detailed route/directions to the collection site, list of specimens. The specimens are recorded by specimen indicator (e.g. 67 KAA-1), and provide information on characteristics of the minerals (color, cpx, ol, opx, density, abundance), count, and some geological information.
