Abstract

The notebook documents the fieldwork of E. C. T. Chao in Sweden and Finland, during August 28 - September 16, 1971. Entries are dated and narrative in structure. They primarily describe field work locations, travel details, excursions with colleagues to localities, and samples collected. Some entries are organized by numbered stops, followed by observations of terrain as well as color and composition of strata. Some entries contain list of samples collected, with identifier (e.g. Sj 7116), location, and description. Chao also includes contact information for colleagues, citations, and information about photographs taken. Locations include Siljan and Lake Dellen in Sweden and Lapjärvi in Finland.
