Abstract

This notebook documents the field trip of Everett Dale Jackson in Hawaii during November 1966 - February 1967. The flyleaf has a sample list with what appears to be location and quantity of samples collected (e.g. WAA-2 2). The notebook begins with the entry on November 20, 1966 [?] in Kaupulehu. Entries include date, location (directions, route), initials/name of the collector, specimen identifier (e.g. 66 KAP-1), count, ol, cpx, opx indicators, mineral forming environment description, physical and optical properties. Includes drawings of geological characteristics with notations. A mention of chromite, xenos is given in the notebook. There is a table with the following data: collect., ol, opx, crx, chr and numerical measurements. All pages of the notebook are numbered. Some of the locations include MCAS Kaneohe, Ulupau crater, and Maui.
