Abstract

This notebook documents the field work of Everett Dale Jackson in Hawaii during 1965. The flyleaf has a sample list with what appears to be location and quantity of samples collected. The notebook begins with the entry on the April 24, 1965, in Kaapuna. Entries include date, location, initials of the collector, tide level, description of mineral formations (abundance), and count of collected samples (nodules). Specimens description include: specimen identifier (e.g. 65-KUH-2), count, location (occasionally, directions and description of terrain), mineral formation (color, abundance, measurements in inches). Some entries have a summary. Entry on Alamanu Crater contains an extensive description of specimens by Loc. and Sta. There is a table that contains information on: %, inter, color, apx, cpx, pc, chr. The pages are numbered. Includes drawings of geological characteristics with notations.
