Abstract

The notebook documents work completed during the Smithsonian-Bredin Expedition in the Caribbean, 1958. Collecting included mollusks, crustacea, worms, and fishes. The first page contains a list of participants, itinerary, and description of work completed. Entries are organized by station number (1-58 to 126-58), and list date (March 25 - May 3, 1958), locality, habitat, and sometimes details about collecting and personal experiences. Subsequent entries are organized by station number and list types and quantity of specimens collected (usually with common name). Locations include Antigua, Barbuda, Redonda. At the end of the volume are three typed notes that list general notes on observation pertaining to Vasum nuttingi. There may be multiple authors. Appears volume originally belonged to William T. Bode of Antigua. Relates to accession number 217237 at Department of Invertebrate Zoology,National Museum of Natural History.
