Abstract

The notebook and notes document preparation and work completed during the Smithsonian-Bredin Expedition in the Caribbean, 1956. Loose notes contain lists, including equipment and collections per chest number, list of marine invertebrate lots. Relates to accession number 208263 at Department of Invertebrate Zoology,National Museum of Natural History. The notebook entries are dated, and are headed with station numbers (1 to 117-56), description of locality, habitat, date (March - 9 to April 17) and specimen collector. These include Chace, Waldo Schmitt, and local inhabitants. Includes time of day, travel details with departure and arrival ports, and weather. At the end of the note book is a detailed itinerary.
