Abstract

The hydrographic sheet no. 1661-1664 documents collecting of sea bottom specimens from New York's lower bay, west of the main channel; no. 1662 covering New York lower bay, Sandy Hook to Coney Island; no. 1663 covering New York Bar and entrance; and no. 1664 covering Gravesend Bay and Narrows for August 22 - October 10, 1885. Lieut. G. C. Hanus, U.S.N., was commanding the party. The table of data includes date, section no., locality with latitude longitude including minutes, fathoms, and appearance.
