Abstract

This collection of field notes document the work of Raymond B. Manning during a cruise in the Gulf of Guinea on the Pillsbury along the coast of West Africa, May 23 -June 5, 1964. The first page is headed with date and location. Entries are a list of station numbers (1 to 83) with descriptions. Most include a combination of information about the environment/habitat, types of specimens collected (scientific name) and their characteristics, method of collecting, name of collector(s), temperature, and location (latitude and longitude). Locations include but are not limited to Lagos, Nigeria. The field notes may document work during the R/V Pillsbury Deep-Sea Biological Expedition, 1964-65.
