Abstract

The materials document the field work on crayfish by Horton H. Hobbs during 1975. The materials are divided into three sections. The first contains a map and notebooks for a trip with Daniel F. Peters and Jean E. Pugh to North Carolina and Georgia, June 1975. The map contains route notations, and the notebooks lists daily entries with information about travel routes and stops. The second section contains field note sheets from June 1975 that list: no. (e.g. 6-1475-1); date; co. & state; drainage system; loc. [locality]; water, flow, width, depth, bottom; vegetation; shore; air temp.; weather; time; capture; det. [determination] sometimes with USNM number; and coll. [collectors]. Also includes additional notes with information about travel, photographs taken, collectors, personal and professional observations; and habitat. Also includes color notes that are headed with no., county and state, and determination. Notes are in a narrative structure. The third section contains sheets for more collecting in Georgia. There is a reference on a sheet to accession number 322033 at Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History.
