Abstract

The sheets and maps document the field work of Horton H. Hobbs during 1977. The materials are divided into two sections. The first section includes copies and original field note sheets for crayfish as well as an list of travel details with destination, arrival and departure time, mileage, and date. Sheets list: no. (e.g. 3-2977-1); date; co. & state; loc. [locality]; water, flow, width, depth, bottom; shore; weather; time; capture; det. [determination] sometimes with USNM number; and notes. Notes list information about specimens, habitat, photographs, and abundance. Locations are in Georgia. The second section includes a map, notebook and data sheets. The map contains route notations. The notebook lists participants (C. W. Hart, Carter, Jean E. Pugh and Hobbs), includes dated entries of travel details. Sheets also list extensive additional notes. Second section corresponds to accession number 322033 at Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History.
