Abstract

The sheets and maps document the field work of Horton H. Hobbs during 1973-1974. The material is divided into two sections. The first includes a map for a trip with T. A. English to northeast Alabama in November 1973. Data sheets list: no. (e.g. 11-1173-1); date; co. & state; drainage system; loc. [locality]; water, flow, width, depth, bottom; vegetation; shore; weather; capture; det. [determination] sometimes with USNM number; coll. [collectors]; and additional notes. These include information about travel and times; observations of environment; additional information about specimens; drawings with notes; observed behaviors. The second section includes two maps with travel notations for a trip with Horton Hobbs III and [?] Peters to Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia in April 1974. Related data sheets have extensive additional notes and includes accession number 304719 at Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History.
