Abstract

The sheets and maps document the field work of Horton H. Hobbs during 1973-1974. The maps include notations and document routes traveled for Kentucky-Arkansas trip in April 1973 with G. [Georgia]Hobbs, and Jean E. Pugh; Kentucky with H. Hobbs III (his son). The data sheets are divided into two sections. The first section includes sheets that list: no. (e.g. 4-1173-1); date; co. & state; drainage system; loc. [locality]; water, flow, width, depth, temp., bottom; vegetation; shore; weather; air temp.; weather; time; capture [method]; det. [determination]; and coll. [collectors]. On some sheets there are extensive notations about location information, specimens, and preservation methods. Locations are in Arkansas, Kentucky. The second grouping covers location in Virginia and includes a notebook of notes for the Dismal Swamp.
