Abstract

This is the second group of sheets and documents that relate to field work of Horton H. Hobbs during 1971-1972. The folder is divided into two sections. The first section includes a two small notebooks and map with notations that covers a trip to South Carolina and Georgia, June 12- 17, 1972, possibly with Jean E. Pugh and Daniel J. Peters. One notebook, entitled "Hobbs, Peters, and Pugh, 3rd annual crawfish expedition" contains information about travel and expenses. The other notebook is entitled "HPP Carolina Trip" contains information about travel routes (including mileage and possibly location numbers) and expenses. The map notations include numbered locations that appear to be color coded. Data sheets contain a variety of information in fields and as notes. Fields list: no. (e.g. 6-1272-1); date; co. & state; drainage system; loc. [locality]; water, flow, width, depth, bottom; vegetation; shore; air temp.; weather; time; capture; det. [determination]; and coll. [collectors]. Notes includes additional information about method of preservation, photographs taken, local contacts, and location information, and personal and professional observations. The second section includes data sheets, and map with notations indicating route for a trip September - October 1972.
