Abstract

The data sheets document the field work of Horton H. Hobbs in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia during 1950. Recorded information varies. Most pages include (sometimes) date, cat. no., p.o. (town and state), locality (includes geographical landmarks and roads in vicinity); water (appearance), flow, width, pH, temp., bottom, vegetation; shore, air temp., weather, time, method of capture, preservative, collected by, and general notes. Measurements are recorded in feet. There are numerical identifiers listed at the top that appear to have been added later: 1-317 to 1-398).
