Abstract

The drawings were created by Joseph Drayton and John Richard of Nasius, Priodon and Acanthurus of fish observed or collected during the United States Exploring Expedition, 1838-1842. Drawings were created during and after the expedition. Some sketches are less detailed with extensive notes. Others are highly finished
