Abstract

The field book covers the work of Donald F. MacDonald in Talamanca, Costa Rica, November 4 - 22, 1915; sampling of B. B. Duncan's claims in the Canal Zone, January 1916; and moisture samples in the Culebra Cut of the Panama Canal. Entries are dated and contain travel details, daily activities, samples collected including fossils (spec. and fossil lot numbers), measurements of terrain (traverses), details about campsites, and descriptions of geological characteristics. Entries from sampling of Duncan's claims contain a numbered list with descriptions of samples and location, along with hand drawn maps. Toward the end of the volume is a numbered list of moisture samples with location information.
