Abstract

The field book covers the work of Donald F. MacDonald in the Canal Zone for the Culebra Cut, 1912. The volume includes pasted inserts, portions of a contour map and profile from the Isthmian Canal Commission Central Division. Several of the inserts have notations. Entries include detailed observations of geological characteristics of the canal and shoreline, and contain colored drawings of formations and geological sections. Colors are used extensively throughout the notebook.
