Abstract

The field book documents the work of Robert Neuman in the Great Smoky Mountains, during September 29 - October 24, 1955. Most entries are headed with location and include location information (landmarks), individuals with whom worked, location identifiers, descriptions of terrain, geological characteristics (color, composition, measurements) of strata, observations, geological sections, and presence of fossils. Locations include but are not limited to Cades Cove and Davis Ford.
