Abstract

The field book documents the work of Robert Neuman in Great Smoky Mountains, including Griscom Cove and Cades Cove, July - August 1951; Malde, Chilhowee Mountain, Spring and Summer of 1952; King, Trail Traverses, 1949. Includes notes on surficial geology. The entries are headed with location with identified (e.g. CG3) and dates, followed by descriptions of depth, angles of layer, and geological characteristics of strata. Also includes numerous colored, hand drawn maps with notes.
