Abstract

The notebook documents the work of Druid Wilson relating to specimens from North Carolina, 1960-1965. The volume begins with an itinerary for November 18 , 1960 - January 3, 1961, June 4 - 6, 1961. It covers identifiers D-1 to D128.It appears that these include notes from Wilson's "preliminary field book" notes that may have been discarded once content was copied. Entries are numbered and include a varying range of detail such as: descriptions of specimens, date, location where collected, sometimes identification and notes on species abundance, hand drawn maps, USGS specimen number, collector name, and remarks. At the back of the volume are geological sections, notes, and a faunal index.
