Abstract

The notebook documents the geological work of Harry S. Ladd in West Virginia and Virginia, September 18 - October 18, 1940. There is note stating that readings underlined in red are off the map. The volume begins with an index listing page number and location. First pages list a color key for geological sections. Entries include notes on fossils, locations where found, and geological sections. Most entries are dated and content varies between narrative descriptions of terrain, and tables of data for traverse listing sta., bearing, dist., and vert. angle.
