Abstract

The notebook documents the geological work of Harry S. Ladd in the Lau islands of Fiji, May 3 - July 23, 1934. The volume begins with a table of contents with page number and island name: Katafnaga, Tuvutha, Vanua Mbalavu, Thithia, Mothe, Karoni, Lakemba, Namuka, Kambara, Wangava, as well as water samples. Entries are dated and headed with island name. Description are listed per identifier (L309 to L427) and contain location information as well as geological characteristics of terrain (color, composition, measurements). Also includes tables of data for traverses: sta., pace., elev., dir. ahead, and remarks as well as a summary of water samples.
