Abstract

The notebook documents the geological work of H. S. Ladd in the Lau islands [Fiji], February 20 - March 21, 1934. The volume begins with a table of contents listing page and location: Mango, Thithia, Fulanga, Ongea, and water samples and temperatures. Entries vary in content. Some are headed by date and location, followed by sample number and description of location (sometimes additional data, e.g. depth, time of day). Others are narrative in structure, describing travel details, geological characteristics of terrain, photographs taken, and sketches of terrain. Also includes table of data relating to water samples and temperatures.
