Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of Harry S. Ladd in Cuba, Missouri [United States], and Ontario [Canada], 1920. First page includes an index listing page number and subject. Ladd documents geological observations as well as information about Coleoptera, Humenoptera, Lepidoptera, Odanta, Diptera, and Orthoptera. Entries vary in content and structure. Notes relating to Cuba trip are narrative in structure and describe travel, sites visited, insects collected, personal observations (e.g. visit to Havana track). Other entries list geological observations as well as sketches and geological sections. Notes relating to insects are organized by type, and describe abundance, location where observed, and specimen characteristics.
