Ladd documents geological observations as well as information about Coleoptera, Humenoptera, Lepidoptera, Odanta, Diptera, and Orthoptera. Entries vary in content and structure. Notes relating to Cuba trip are narrative in structure and describe travel, sites visited, insects collected, personal observations (e.g. visit to Havana track).
