Abstract

The notebook documents the work of Chalmer L. Cooper while working for the Illinois State Geological Survey, circa 1941 - 1943. First page contains an itinerary for travel June 15 - July 6, to Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas. Entries then list detailed observations of sites, with notes relating to fossils, minerals present, descriptions of strata (color, composition, measurements). At the bottom of most sheets is a stamped list of fields: date, t., r., quad., part, county, index no. Information frequently listed includes collector, date, t., r., country, and index no.
