Abstract

The notebook documents the work of R. V. Hollingsworth, H. L. Geis, and C.L.C. [Chalmer L. Cooper], 1932 - 1943. They may worked for the Illinois State Geological Survey. The volume is divided by tabs into sections: Hollingsworth 882 - 925; Geis 162 - 303; Geis eis Ill. Ust.; Miss. V. Bk. Sh. Entries content varies, but usually includes location information, geological characteristics, samples taken, and notes. The bottom of most of the pages is stamped with the following fields: date, t, r, quad, part, county, index no. Recorded information usually includes collector name, county, state, and index no. Locations include but are not limited to Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Nebraska, Illinois, and Indiana.
