Abstract

The field book documents the work of Phillip D. Pack while in Nevada June 19 - July 4, 1971; Nevada and California October 7 - 23, 1972; and Nevada October 23 - November 1, 1973. Entries are dated and headed with location. He describes characteristics (color, composition, type of stone), minerals present, abundance and type of fossils present, geological sections with notes, and fossils collected. Some description is organized per numbered unit. Includes sketches of fossils. He also describes a visit to University of California, Los Angeles, and a detailed study of fossils after returning home. Locations include Mormon Mountain and Frenchman Mountain.
