Abstract

The field book documents the work of Phillip D. Pack while in Nevada, 1970 - 1971. Entries are headed with date and location. They detail weather, description and condition of fossils found (including trilobites), as well as characteristics of shale (color, composition). Some descriptions are organized by unit number, which also list degree of slope and other terrain characteristics. Some entries contain geological sections with notes. He made multiple visits to sites. Locations include Mormon Mountain, Sheep Mountain, and Frenchman Mountain.
