Abstract

The volume documents the field work of Ray Bassler in Virginia and Tennessee, 1902, 1946 - 1906. The volume begins with a list of samples of rock sent for analysis. Entries are headed with location or route and followed with a narrative description of geological characteristics observed, along with sketches, as well as presence of shale and dolomite. Other entries have detailed geological sections. Bassler writes from the front and the back of the volume. Locations are across Virginia.
