Abstract

The volume documents the field work of Ray Bassler in Tennessee, Virginia, and Maryland, 1908. Pages are numbered. Entries are headed with location, followed by additional location information (e.g. landmarks), geological sections with detailed notes, references to fossils found. There are narrative descriptions below sketches, describing the fossils present. Locations include but are not limited to Moshum, Cedar Glen to Austin Springs, Jonesboro, Tennessee; Bluff City (state not identified); Lexington, Marion, and Salem, Virginia. Notes are also written from the back of the volume. These include lists of samples sent for analysis, expenses, lists of photographs taken.
