Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of Axel A. Olsson in the United States, April 29, 1920 - January 22, 1968. Entries are headed with a date or a date range, as well as location. They provide a short summary of field work completed, followed by more detailed descriptions, sometimes organized by numbered locality. Descriptions include observations of geological characteristics of terrain, specimens present and identified. Some entries include geological sections with notes, sometimes notes relating to photographs taken, and hand drawn maps. Locations include but are not limited to Texas, Mississippi, Florida, and Virginia. There was significant amount of time spent across Virginia.
