Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of Axel A. Olsson in Venezuela March 9 - April 4, 1942. A note on the cover indicates travel to Tachira and Merida. Entries are dated and narrative in structure. Entries describe daily activities, travel details, presence and identification of fossils found, geological characteristics of terrain observed, routes traveled, and portions of notes describing specific observed topics (e.g. "red beds"). There are geological sections with notes. On the last page is a list relating to photographs taken.
