Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of Axel A. Olsson in Panama, 1938. Entries are headed with location and date range. The first entry indicates work in Pearl Islands, March. Entries are narrative in form, describing travel details, daily activities, observations of the geological characteristics of islands, lists of fossils collected per island, partial list of species noted, summary of recent studies on the geology of Panama, structural notes, and list of fossil collections used. Includes a sketch of the view from northeast of Isle Bon and loose insert, "Pace Traverse from Boca Trocha to Pta. Burica."
