Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of Axel A. Olsson in Venezuela and Colombia, February 26 - May 23, 1941. Entries are dated, sometimes headed with location, and narrative in format. They sometimes include lists of dates and locations, possibly routes. Entries are often lengthy and describe routes traveled, descriptions of geological characteristics of terrain (color and composition), kinds of fossils found, daily activities, and names of colleagues. Olsson writes from both ends of the volume.
