Abstract

The notebook documents the paleontological field work of William A. Oliver in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia with H.I. Saunders, September 24 - October 6, 1973, and West Virginia with Bill Perry, May 19, 1975. 9176-SD to 9275.Entries are dated and have location information (quadrangle, section, landmarks, vicinity of towns and roads), descriptions of terrain, geological characteristics, geological sections, and fossils found. Often collecting locations are at quarries. Notebook includes some a drawn map. According to a note in the volume, the trip in 1975 to Petersburg, West Virginia was led by Bill Perry and included Steve Warshaner of the University of West Virginia, Doug Patchin and Dick Smosna of West Virginia Geological Survey, and student Roy Sites. Note indicates notations were added 1/27/1983.
