Abstract

The notebook documents the paleontology field work of William A. Oliver in Kentucky, October 25 - 28, 1963. According to notes inside the front cover, it is the second of 2 volumes. The first covers USGS 7051 to 7098, 63-1 to 63-24, and book 2 covers 7099 to 7118, 63-25 to 63-43. The first page contains a list of individuals with whom he collected: J.L. Gualtieri, G.W. Weir, Paul Richards, W. L. Helton, E.B. Branson of the Kentucky Geological Survey, Geroge C. Simmons, Robt. C. Greene, and G. C. Simmons. Entries are dated and include location information (quadrangle, landmarks, town or road in vicinity), terrain characteristics, geological sections, and fossils present. Locations include Crab Orchard, Broadhead, Paint Lick, Berea, Union City, Palmer, and Panola quadrangles.
