Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of William A. Oliver during trips for the U.S. Geological Survey, July 30, 1962 to August 3, 1964, October 5 - 8, 1972. In the front of the volume is an list of trip details including dates, locations, and collectors (Gaza Teleki; Andrew Stancioff; Prof. Spencer, Kozak, McGuire; Doug Pasley; Fedorowski, Kris, Dutro, and deWitt). Locations include Gore, Virginia (July 1962); Vast City, West Virginia (September 1963); Clifton Forge, Virginia (March 1963); Mill Gap Run, West Virginia and Fulks Run, Virginia (August 1964); Hyndman, Pennsylvania, and Keyser, Maryland (October 1972). Entries are dated and include location information (landmarks, town and roads in vicinity), geological sections, specimens collected (6062 to 9014). There are numerous loose inserts.
