Abstract

The notebook documents the field work of William A. Oliver for the U.S. Geological Survey in New York, June 29 - July 8, 1960. Numbers assigned cover 5655 to 5691- SD. Entries are dated and include either geological sections, or "loc" number (nonsequential), followed by location information such as town in vicinity, quadrangle, and landmarks; description of terrain; and specimens collected (with 4-digit number in the left-hand margin). Specimens collected often include biostromes.
