Abstract

The journal covers William Oliver's geological observations relating to glaciation in Illinois, fall of 1946. The notebook begins with a overview of glacier movement in Nebraska, Kansas, Wisconsin, and Illinois. This is followed by number entries, organized by location. Location description includes use of geological and constructed landmarks (e.g. roads, bridges). Details include descriptions of soil composition and annotated geological sections. Locations include Jordan creek as well as vicinity of Danville on U.S. Route 150.
