Abstract

The illustration includes one black-and-white pencil sketch and one color pencil sketch of a specimen labeled Podiceps californicus, collected at Pyramid Lake, Nevada, in December (no year indicated). Notes on the illustration indicate the sketches were drawn from a fresh specimen in winter plumage.
